The Chronicles of Declan Pierce – Through The Veil

Shadow magic is second nature to Declan Pierce, but nothing could prepare him for what lies beyond the edge of what he thought was real. When an unexpected figure from his past resurfaces with ties to a mystery steeped in magic and illusion, Declan is drawn into a conspiracy far deeper than stage tricks and street shadows.

As hidden doors open and ancient forces stir, Declan discovers that the world he knows is only a fragment of something far more dangerous. Through the Veil pushes the boundaries of reality, leading Declan into places where truth is veiled, and the cost of uncovering it may be more than he’s willing to pay. The tricks presented in this volume detail some new uses for an age-old and overlooked card gimmick that is practically invisible and easy to to use.

Tricks

• Underhanded - A card is selected. It is then lost back into the deck completely out of the hands and sight of the magician. The deck is handed back to the magician still out of sight, and the magician is still able to identify and locate the card without ever seeing the deck.

• Deja Screw - The magician creates a highly unique Deja Vue experience for his participant with a twist ending.

• Oracle in Training - The magician instructs their participant in the subtle art of intuition, helping them psychically guide themselves to the discovery of their own secretly selected card that has been lost in the deck.

• Divine Drawings - An opener billet routine in which several participants are asked to make secret drawings on the billets they have been handed. The billets are collect and shuffled by one of the participants. When the magician is finaly handed the billets, he is able to correctly identify the artist of each and every drawing.

The Chronicles of Declan Pierce – Vaults & Visions

When a citywide robbery leaves no trace and too many unanswered questions, Declan Pierce is pulled from the shadows of the stage and into the heart of a deepening mystery. Clues lead to connections that quickly spiral into something darker—an intricate web of illusions, hidden cargo, and magical threats cloaked beneath the surface of the everyday.

Declan discovers new powers and a criminal enterprise as he follows the trail of stolen jewels and mysterious artifacts.  As a result, he finds himself hunted by forces that prefer secrets to stay buried. With time running out and the stakes rising, Vaults & Visions takes Declan into the depths of deception—where trust is fragile, truth is masked, and the past refuses to stay silent. • Me First - A concise explanation of a classic mentalism routine.

• Parity Prediction - An original effect that puts the Me First routine into play in a very intriguing and much more entertaining way.

• A.T.F.N. (All that for Nothing) - The magician has a participant secretly select and remember a card. He then describes a number of differnt methods magician use to determine the identity of selected card - and provides counter measures for each. Finally, after all possible methods are accounted for and countered, the magician reveals the identity of the selected card without using the cards at all.

• Far Beyond Coincidence - A transposition effect that requires a marked deck in which the participant's and magician's card magically switch places. Note: The effect makes use of The Shadow Palm Principle and is also detailed in this book as well.
